Testicular Ultrasound Results

I went to the doctor with a small lump that I found. He stated in the appointment he couldn't feel anything serious but to check wanted me to have an ultrasound. I asked at the ultrasound when the results would be in, and they said I could ring today. I rung the doctors myself and they have asked me to come in to see the doctor to discuss results. When i asked could it be phonecall they stated no. However, the appointment is down for routine and not emergency, and it was only due to me ringing I found out they wanted me to come in. Should I be concerned at all about these results, as normally if no action is needed the doctor doesn't call you in? Within the ultrasound the person did struggle to find the lump too, and I have no idea if something serious is going on. Please could I have some advice? I'm a little scared.

  • Hello Boo390 and thanks for posting,

I can appreciate that waiting for test results can be scary. I would try to keep an open mind about why the doctor wants to see you, it is possible that they want to re-examine you since the person doing the ultrasound struggled to find the lump. And sometimes something other than cancer has been seen and needs to be sorted out. Try not to over think it and stay on an even keel until you see the doctor which I hope will be soon.

    All the best
