  • Hello and thanks for your post,

Even though it can be helpful and supportive hearing what has happened to other patients who are having investigations for thyroid cancer it is very difficult to compare one person with another until you get your results.

The main treatment if you are diagnosed with thyroid cancer is surgery. You can read on our website about the different options here

I know that it is hard waiting to find out what is going to happen next but it is really only when the doctors have looked at the results under a microscope will they be able to tell you any more. If it is benign (not cancer) there maybe other options but try not to overthink it all until you have seen the doctors.

Some people find that it helps to keep busy and your mind on other things so you can distract yourself and not think about it all the time.

I hope you know more soon.

    All the Best,

    Catherine
