Lump in Groin

Hi All,

I have a singluar raised node in my groin, I have had two U/S scans. The most recent one being on Sunday, the sonographer I saw seemed pretty sure it was as a result of a infection/virus/Covid!

However when I looked at the report it said the 'echo texture is heterogenous and corticomeduuary; differntiation is poor? And they want the scan repeated in three months'.

The lump has been there for 3 months now, and I struggle to find it now.

Any ideas, worried about Lymphoma however have no other symptoms and I cannot find any further enlraged lymph nodes

Worried and panicking

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

Lymph nodes do go up and down when an infection has been present. I am sure that if the sonographer was more concerned then they would have considered taking a biopsy.

I also think that you need to  be reassured that it is being checked in three months time and also that you now can't find it.

It does sound like it may well have been the result of any infection that you have had.

Try not to over think it all.

You say that you are also not having any other symptoms.

We can never diagnose any one on CancerChat but it does sound like you don't need to be overly concerned.

    With Best Wishes,

    Catherine
