A blood test measures the levels of different blood cells in the blood sample. It  often cannot diagnose a condition on its own but it can help your doctor find out about your general health and if anything is wrong that may need further investigating.

So it cannot tell you if your breast symptoms will turn out to be a harmless cyst. At the breast clinic they will run some tests to establish a diagnosis.

It may help you to know that the majority of women referred to the breast clinic do not have cancer.
