Lymph Node

Hi all,

Posting again as I seem to only find a little less stressed once I post my symptoms.

I have a lymph node on the back, right side of my neck, and the size of a pea. It feels hard to the touch and is moveable and painless to the touch.

I have had a infection before this involving my throat which led to my voice being hoarse, which has cleared up. I first discovered this lymph node 3-4 weeks ago on holiday and hasn't changed size or anything else.

So its just been there giving me no bother, should I worry about it as it's not changing or getting better?

  • Hello Marshall 16 and thanks for your post

Lymph nodes can be raised for various reasons, such as a local skin infection, or a blocked or inflamed lymph gland (lymph node). Sometimes lymph nodes come up in response to a recent bacterial or viral infection elsewhere in the body even when a person feels well. It can take several weeks for them to go down and sometimes they may never go back to their original size.

But only a doctor can make a medical assessment so the best thing to do is to make an appointment to see your GP to get checked out just to be on the safe side.

I hope you know more about your situation soon.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
