Found a small little ball on top of testicle

I'm a 15 year old dude and recently found a small little ball like lump above my left testicle. It is a lot smaller than a pea, it is quite easy to miss out when feeling around. It is connected to this tissue like structure right on top of my testicle. And where this tissue is , is where the little lump is. No pain, discomfort or anything of that nature. Just a bit worried as my lymph nodes next to my groin are also swollen, but this may be due to me having covid and they never went back to normal. Any thoughts?

  • I would get your doctor to fully examine the lump to be on the safe side.

He will send you for an ultrasound scan if any concerns.

  • Does it sound like anything too serious?

  • I can only speak from experience (partner)not from a medical aspect.

Any changes I would get looked at most lumps are fine but just incase.

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you are concerned about your testicle. Most testicle lumps and bumps have an explanation far less serious then cancer.  The small pea like structure that you are feeling may just be part of the actual testicle. Testicular cancer is not a common cancer.

The NHS have written some information on what testicles should look at feel like which you can see here

and there is information on testicle lumps and swellings at this link

We would always advise someone who have concerns to make an appointment with their GP so they can get checked out. If your GP is concerned at all then they will refer you for an ultrasound.

We are unable to diagnose (tell you what is wrong). GP's are used to seeing patients with all sorts of swellings in intimate places and I am sure will put you at ease.

It may help to share this with a trusted adult such as your dad.

Lymph nodes do go up and down when you have had an infection and hopefully with time these will settle but do mention this to your GP as well if you remain concerned.

    I hope this helps.

    All the Best,

    Catherine
