Bleeding after sex 2 weeks after a colposcopy punch biopsy

Hi,

Wondering how normal it is to be bleeding after sex two ish weeks after a colposcopy punch biopsy? Me and my partner have had sex after the 7 seven days with no bleeding until now so it caught me off guard a bit! It's bright red blood so fresh and quiet a bit of it (not more than a period but more than just spotting).

Is this something I should be worried about?

    The general post care advice given by colposcopy units is to not have penetrative sex or use tampons for the first 4 weeks after the procedure.

    The cervix does need time to heal afterwards, it does not heal quickly. So try to not have penetrative sex for a few weeks and let it settle down again.

    If you experience bleeding after 4 weeks, then do let your GP or colposcopy unit know.
