hi all im confused so i have been back and forth to gani over the years i had a normal smear test but changes and past hpv found my consultant has siad changes have been found and he has refred me to have a hysteroscopy clinic , i get they are covering all basis as i have bleeding after sext and pain afterward too i just dont get the reults any advice thankyou xxxxxxxxx

  • Hello, and thank you for posting.

    I'm afraid until you have the investigations it is difficult to say if there is anything the matter, but changes do not necessarily mean you have cancer.

    If the doctor says you have abnormal cell changes on a smear, this is not unusual, I've put a link to information here

    There are other reasons for bleeding and pain after sex, and you can read more about this on the NHS website

    At the moment it is just waiting to have the investigations to find out what is causing you these symptoms. Waiting for these appointment and results can always be tricky, but keeping yourself busy so your mind is distracted is the best way to help the time pass.
