After chemo

I have finished chemotherapy after 5 months breast cancer I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet.  My face has started to feel sensitive like when you go to the dentist and it's numb.  When the wind blows on it feels weird. Just wondering if any one else has or had this. Hoping it go s away. Thank you x

  • Hello lobelia and thanks for posting,

I am not sure if anyone else will come along and post, but nerve damage can be very troublesome so I understand you wanting to hear from other people and find out how things have gone for them.

Nerve damage associated with certain types of chemotherapy is usually seen in what is described as a glove and stocking pattern as these are the parts of the body most often affected. Facial nerve problems are uncommon but have occasionally been reported. Even so, as this is something new it is probably a good idea to tell your hospital team and see what they say about it.

Over time things usually improve, but it is difficult to say exactly when this will happen which doesn't help much as I think it can be easier to put up with something when you know how long it will last.

Feel free to give us a call if you want to talk anything over. Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and we are here 9-5, weekdays.

    Best wishes,

    Julia

  • Hi… I know it an old post, but I’m getting the same as you. Just want to know if it gets better?
