Small hard lump found

Hi, I'm 34 next week. Three weeks ago I found a hard lump on my breast, I went to the doctor and she referred me to have a mammogram, I received the appointment today but it's two weeks away! I've noticed that the breast where the lump is, my nipple is in more, I can get it to come out so thinking that's hopefully not a sign?? I'm constantly googling any other symptoms, if it was breast tissue would have it gone/shrank by now or do they stay for a long time? This next two weeks is going to be lonnnggg!

  • Hi I know it's easier said than done but try not to get really stressed and anxious. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago I had a mastectomy but recently found a lump in my armpit so I'm anxious waiting on appointment hope you are okay x

  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you have a lump that is worrying you and appreciate waiting for tests can be an anxious time.

Breast lumps are common and alot of the time are caused by cysts or a build up of fatty tissue called fibroadenomas, see here. Most people referred to breast clinics won't have breast cancer so try not to over think things for now, and step away from google if you can.

I hope your appointment comes around quickly and that everything will be okay for you.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
