Hoarseness for month

Hello everyone,

I have already made a post about my hoarseness and thought id give an update, my voice since the start has improved as well as symptoms. Although, my voice still has this croaky, raspiness to it.

Also, I have tried getting an appointment with my GP and they have only agreed to do it over a call. I am worried sick as it has been a month with a voice like this. I never lost my voice it just hasnt been soft for so long and is only ever croaky and deep.

I have no sore throat, lump feeling, tightness, breathlessness, trouble swallowing, painful swallowing, fatigue, weight loss for a while, it is only my voice playing up.

One other thing, I some times get ear pain in both ears which isnt painful enough to be acknowledged but comes and goes.

When i cough and clear my throat occasionly, my voice will be sounding fine and normal then moments later the croakyness is back.

Is there anything I should look out for?

Once again, thanks

  • Hello and thank you for getting back to us,

It is good to know that you have a telephone appointment with your GP, if he or she needs to see you they will arrange for that to happen, you could also ask them about this too.

I realise that this has been a worry for the last few weeks so please do let a trusted adult know about what is concerning you. Also do let your GP know about this.

I am afraid that no one here can say say if anything is the matter and what it could be, however it would be unlikely to be something serious in someone of your young age.

    Take care,

    Caroline
