I am sooo Anxious, I missed a call from No caller ID

What is going to happen? My I think I missed a call from the haematologist, I had a biopsy 3 weeks ago, could it be that the call was about the diagnosis? Do they do that if it is a diagnosis of cancer? Or if it is negative? What happens now? Will they send a letter?

don't know how I'm going to get through this weekend.

I am just anxious.

any one with similar experience?

  • Did you try calling back? It's a bit late, but...if they called this late... Otherwise I assume they will call again. If it's important, I'd imagine they would call again fairly quickly or would have left a message. Did you check if there was a message?

  • Hello, this has happened to me twice in the past, and both times, they left me a message saying that they tried to contact me and for me to not try contacting them as it will put more demand on the phone system so they'll call again later.

I'm sure they would've left a message for you aswell. I think it would be unlikely for them to just leave it.

  • Thanks for your reply, the call was 16:00 29/07/22

    No message left.

    would they send a letter?

just thinking of how I'm gonna get through this weekend, the 3 weeks had been gruelling.

  • No message left.

so many thoughts on my mind.

  • My hospital have told me they'll always phone back.  Try your best to focus on other things or walk off your anxious energy.  Worrying won't make your phone ring right?  They're much more likely to phone you back than write.  And I'm betting they'd have left a Voicemail if important.

Try to enjoy your weekend and switch off. I think they'd get you in if important. Did you check your hospital phone number?

  • My gynaecology consultant called me on a Saturday both pre op and later with the biopsy results, She rang earlier than expected 9 am not 4 pm. Then rang again at 10:30am l picked up that call. You may get another call today. I hope you hear soon .

  • Any time I've had a call from anybody in a hospital, the number has always come up. If there was no number, the odds are it was just a wrong number or a scam call or something and nothing to do with your results at all, especially with no message left. Any time I've missed a call from anybody medical, they've left a message. Even when it was just a final check that everything was OK before they officially removed me from their books. If there was no message and no number, odds are it's nothing important.

But even if it is, they aren't going to just think, "oh, they missed one call, guess we'll just have to write or not pass on the information." They will call again and honestly, I'd say if it were the hospital, there's a good chance they would have done so already.

But I doubt it was. 4pm on a Friday seems an unlikelish time for them to ring and it seems unlikely they wouldn't leave any message.

There's definitely nothing to worry about.

  • Hello there and I hope you got through the weekend okay

As many people have already said no here try not to panic and see what today brings. You may wish to try calling the hospital to find out if the results are in and also how you will find out what the results of the biopsy are.

The way people get their results can vary, some over the phone, some in person at an appointment and others through the post and i'm afraid no one here can know the method in which you will get yours.

As others have said usually the hospital will leave a message and the hospital number will often come up if they had tried to call.

I hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay. You have waited 3 weeks already so i'm sure you'll hear something shortly.

    Take care

    Naomi
