Blood tests

I had a biopsy done 4 and a half weeks ago for cervical cancer. Also have had bloods taken, and my gp called me yestsrday to inform me my inflammatory markers were extremely high. I know the biopsy has been done and there is a letter waiting to be posted I me, but obviously by law the receptionist couldn't give me result over the phone.  Everyone telling me to stay positive, but now knowing about my bloods I'm starting to think I may have cervical cancer.  Do u think the bloods are a clear sign I have it? I'm also still having pelvic cramps, leg and back pain (even more so at night when my feet are up).

  • Hello Babydoll-Jo and thanks for posting again,

Inflammatory markers can be raised in several conditions, notably infections, so I don't think it is ever possible to say they are a clear sign of having cancer.

I don't know what is causing these pelvic cramps or the leg and back pain. But if you haven't already, do tell your doctor so they can assess them.

I can appreciate that waiting for biopsy results can be nerve racking, thankfully it sounds like you won't have too much longer to wait.

Try and keep an open mind for now.

    All the best,

    Julia
