Intermittent Pain in my back and testicle throughout the day

Hello,

I have an intermittent pain in my lower back and testicle throughout the day also when I lay down at night it seems to get ever so slightly worse.

When I am sitting down it's rarely a problem.

I've also checked Mt testicles and I don't think I can feel any abnormalities

Should I be worried?

  • Sounds like a back issue. Whether that be muscular or a disc issue. Pain can go to the testicles, groin, down your leg, to your knee etc etc.

If it's really bothering you, go to a gp, then get physio. However, NHS physio is underwhelming. They aren't hands on at all and just send you away with a piece of paper with exercises. Exercises are good, but sometimes hands on can really improve things. But that's usually restricted to private physio.

  • Hello and thank you for your post. I was sorry to read that you are worried about your testicles and back pain.

We always advise that when you have concerns about your testicle, or other symptoms, to make an appointment with your GP who can advise you further, and hopefully reassure you. They will refer you for an ultrasound scan if they think this is necessary. They are very used to being asked to look at all sorts of testicle concerns, so do pluck up courage and make an appointment.

Most testicle issues or symptoms are easily explained, and are not anything serious. Testicular cancer is in fact very uncommon.

There is some useful information on the NHS websites on what testicles should feel and look like here,

    www.nhs.uk/.../

and there is information on testicle lumps and swellings at this link,

I hope you find this helpful.

    Kind regards,

    Vanda
