Post menopausal bleeding can have a range of different causes and most won't be linked to cancer but the important thing is that this is going to be investigated. You can read more about post menopausal bleeding here . As well as a thickened womb lining being a possible cause other things like polyps in the cervix, fibroids or thinning or inflammation in the vagina can also cause bleeding.

The hysteroscopy will allow the gynaecologist to take a closer look at your womb and take biopsies. The NHS website has some information on having a hysteroscopy here. 

I can appreciate that it is an anxious time, but it is not possible to presume anything at the moment until more is known. 

Hopefully people will come along and share their experiences with you, as support like this can be invaluable. But it’s important to bear in mind that even if there are other people who have experienced similar things to you, I’m not sure that their experience will shed much light about what is going on with you.
