            sorry to read your post,not quite sure what you mean by stage 5,since l thought it went from 1 to 4.l also assume it is bowel cancer that has spread to the liver.

l had the same a number of years back,mine was picked up on the pre-op scans for bowel resection surgery.l had two lesions on both lobes of the liver,and had 60% of my liver removed.The key here was that surgery was only just a possibility before proximity and lack of a clear margin to neighbouring structures rendered that not an option.So yes stage 4 bowel cancer with spread to liver.Liver surgery was done first followed by bowel resection and stoma six weeks later.Stoma reversal 15 months later

I am sorry to hear about your husbands situation and appreciate this must be a worrying time for you both.

It must have been very tough to find out that there is a now lesion on the liver however the doctors will be wanting to carry out more scans to decide what the best treatment options are moving forward.

When a cancer spreads to another organ in the body this is called secondary or metastatic cancer but there are treatments available and for some people a cure may be possible. You can read more about this here.

Everyone is different but as another member has pointed out many can still live for many years with advanced disease.

For now try and sit tight until you have more information from the doctors involved in your husbands care, they are in the best position to explain what will happen next and what they hope the treatment will achieve.

Sorry yes meant stage 4 was a error .. thank you for your story you came through so much and still here such a blessing Christopher for his appointment for his mri next week and pet scan the week after hopefully they can operate on the liver x
