Hi, I'm hoping there will be people in the group who can help with shared experience. I have 2 cysts which the think are dermoid. One is 15x14x9 cm which is very large with all the associated pain and digestive issues. The other sits behind this and can't be seen on ultrasound. This one is 5.5cm. My CA125 levels are only slightly raised which is good news. I went into hospital for pain management last week and was informed that my June mri ( that I'm still awaiting results on) showed the two cysts and that I had a bulky womb and fibroid to boot! My right ovary is if good size and seems to be healthy.
the consultant who spoke to me really upset me as he said they would perform a full hysterectomy through open surgery taking both my ovaries. He said I'm assuming you don't have periods! Yes I do.
I have to wait for this surgery as there is only 1 consultant at our nhs hospital that can do it and u derstandablh he prioritises the cancerous ladies.
my question is : is it not possible for this procedure to be done laparascopic and have other people experienced similar size dermoid that have been taken this way. Also have others experienced them wanting to remove all their female organs?
I have my consultation and mri feedback with my consultant on 28th July so any advice would be gratefully recieved
Nikki
