Lump on neck

I'm 15 years old (female) and have this strange small grape sized lump on the back of my neck, it's like INSIDE the neck. Ive went to the GP since I was extremely anxious. (I have no other symptoms that I know of aside from this.) They told me something along the lines of "it's a cyst and if it grows or hurts come back". This settles my anxiety for a bit, but I've recently remembered that the lump was there. And I'm not sure if it grew, and I basically forgot what the GP said.I'm really scared. I also have this kinda soft movable ish lump behind my ear, like it's literally right behind my ear. Please any advice will be appreciated

    also forgot to mention that I discovered it while I was kinda ill but not?? I'm not sure my memory is extremely hazy, I've Googled symptoms, which is a terrible idea I know. But I'm not sure if it's a lymph node or just a random Tumor

    I am sorry to hear about your worries but i'm afraid no one here can say what their lump or lumps are being caused by and it sounds like you would be best to talk to a parent or trusted adult about this and then perhaps go back and see your GP.

    Lumps and bumps are common and most will be harmless and caused by cysts ( build up of fluid) or swollen lymph nodes due to a current or past infection that often settle after a little while.

    As your GP said if the lump changes or becomes painful you should go back and see them so they can reassess you and arrange more tests if needed.

    Please try not to google symptoms as this often leads to unnecessary worry and the internet can't diagnose anyone i'm afraid.
