Lump on head - should I be worried

On Monday this week (now Wednesday) I noticed there is a hard lump about a centimeter from th edge of my ear that feels like bone but has a slight throbbing when pressed. When I noticed it I thought it may be linked to my psoriasis I get on my scalp that flares when stressed but it's been a couple of days and still there. It does not hurt and don't notice it to be hot nor is it red. I am starting to panic which I sure will not help. Does this seem like sometime psoriasis can cause?

  • Hello Evanssgi and thanks for posting,

I can understand you asking, but no one here on Cancer Chat can say for certain what is causing this lump or provide any reassurance about it, only a doctor can. It could be something like a lymph node that has got a bit bigger and your psoriasis could have something to do with it, so I don't think you need to worry unduly. But our advice is always to report  new and persistent lumps to the GP so they can be properly checked out.

I hope you can arrange a GP appointment easily to get this sorted out and that everything turns out alright.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
