Also due to pain after a recent gyno appointment I found 3 almost freckle moles around my labia one is black and the other 2 are brown should I get that checked too ?

  • Hello Br00ke and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your urinary symptoms and the worry you have about them.

Being referred as an urgent referral does not mean you definitely have cancer, in fact it would be very unusual in someone of your age to have it. There can be many reasons why you have your symptoms and most of them will not be due to cancer. Be reassured that you will now see the specialist doctor who will be able to tell you what is the matter.

The moles and freckles you see are most probably part of your normal anatomy. You could mention them to the doctor you are going to see but it might be better to mention it to your GP, if you continue to be worried, after you are seen in the hospital.

Please try not to use the internet to self diagnose yourself. This is not a reliable way to know what is the matter and can cause a lot of anxiety and worry.  It would now be a good idea to keep yourself busy doing other things and have the support of your family and friends.

You would be welcome to get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
