It sounds like you have picked up another HPV infection after the result of your last smear test. Unfortunately, having had HPV once doesn't mean you can't get it again, but hopefully your body's immune system with clear it up over time - I expect you will be called back for a smear in a year's' time to see if it has. When screening results aren't normal people often worry, but bear in mind that cervical screening is all about prevention. The idea is to pick up abnormal cells that could potentially develop into cancer much later so they can be monitored or treated when necessary. 

The bleeding you are having can be caused by different things. The contraceptive injection can have side effects, one of the most common ones is irregular bleeding and changes to your periods.  It can take several months and sometimes up to a year for irregular bleeding to stop after starting the contraceptive injection.

You said you had some pills from the doctor to stop the bleeding but it has continued. Talking to the doctor about this, and ruling out other things that may be causing the bleeding, like an infection, would be something you could do, and may hep you to get you some answers.  There is some information about bleeding between periods here which you may find useful.

Hi . Thanks for the reply. I don't remember HPV being mentioned in 2018 ..when I had the smear and colposcopy,leetz  wouldn't they have tested for it?? .maybe I need to ring and ask them . 

Also please.. although they have said high risk Hpv they didn't say which type ..is that something I can find out ? 

Also I just had blood test done for other things ..can having b12 deficiency be bad for trying to get rid of HPV? Also does HPV have an effect on platelet count as mine are increasing?? ..sorry for so many questions

HPV testing is a relatively new part of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme so it was possible in your area it was not yet being used in 2018.

There are a few different types of high risk HPV, the NHS does not give that information when they give the screening result. I think this is because while they each have different numbers they all do the same thing, which is cause the cells that line the cervix to become abnormal. However, it will be recorded in your medical notes. 

HPV is cleared form the body's immune system naturally in 1- 2 years. A deficiency of B12 I don't think will affect your immune system and nether will your platelet count.

I can imagine waiting to get the results must be difficult. 

Without being involved in your care it is difficult for me to give an opinion about your uterus but it does sound like the problem with the uterus is not connected to the cervix and the HPV infection. You are however better discussing this with your doctors when you see them as they will be able to tell you more.

It is very easy to try and guess what it all means but unfortunately as you have said it is a waiting game whilst the doctors look at all of your results.

Try and keep an open mind as there are other non cancerous conditions that women can get but of course it is important to rule anything serious out.

Try and keep yourself busy and your mind on other things so you don't think about it all the time.

Update 

so docs called . Biopsy showed areas of concern. Need surgery to remove mass and poylops and some lining from uterus to be sent for further testing . . Just wait on surgery date now ....always wait
