Rituxamab plus lenolidamide

I was diagnosed in 2016 with follicular Lymphoma and after 6 months of chemotherapy and 2 years Maintenence on Obinatuzamab my cancer was in full metabolic remission which was fantastic. In January of this year I had radiotherapy on my groin which unfortunately didn't work for me. Since then several lymph nodes have enlarged and I'm now on Rituxamab plus lenolidamide. I feel I'm struggling more with this.
firstly I had a tumour flair reaction and had to take steroids now after the first injection into my stomach I have a rash appeared. Reading up it looks like it's a side effect but just wondering if anyone else has had this happen ? It doesn't appear to be spreading but is warm  to touch . It does seem to have gone down a little. Any help appreciate and what danger signs should I look out for ?

  • Hello there and thanks for getting in touch

I am sorry to hear you are back on treatment and it doesn't seem to be agreeing with you or your body, hopefully this is just a blip and everything will settle down soon.

Do let your team know if this rash isn't settling or spreading further as soon as you can just incase they wish to assess you and manage any reaction if needed.

Each and every cancer treatment can have a range of different side effects and what a patient experiences will vary from one person to another. Skin rashes can be a result of both of these medications and you can read more about the side effects here and here but the important thing to say if the rash is worsening or making you feel unwell in any way do let your team know straight away.

I hope this helps but do get back if you have further questions.

Wishing you all the best and that you can continue to have your treatment without any more problems.

    Take care

    Naomi
