Hello and thanks for posting. I am sorry to read that you have been diagnosed with light chain myeloma
There is information on our website about the different types of myeloma here . Myeloma is quite a complicated illness so I can understand you finding it all a bit confusing, but essentially light chain myeloma is where part of a protein called an immunoglobulin called light chains are produced in large amounts. Testing for these can help the medical team diagnose and monitor myeloma.
You have posted in the "Ask the Nurse" Area of Cancer Chat, if you want to get support from other members of the community it might be better to post in one of the other topic areas.
If you have further questions about it, as it is quite a complex illness, see if you can arrange to speak to one of your medical team, you may have been allocated a specialist nurse who may be able to answer your questions. You can also talk to our team of nurses on freephone 0808 800 4040 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
The organisation Myeloma UK will also be a useful source of information and support for you.
Take care
Martin
