results from biopsy

Hi, I have a question.  I received letter with results from biopsy.  And is shown some changes called ungradeable CIN. what's that's mean? is low or high Cin? they offer me waiting for Multidisciplinary Team Meeting  or if I wish go ahead treatment.  I don't know what I should be do?

  • Hello Anna and thank you for your post.

I think ungradable means that while the biopsy showed abnormal cells it cannot say what level they are at. I can appreciate you want some guidance about what you should do now but the best people to give this to you is the colposcopy team.

At a multidisciplinary team meeting specialist doctors will look at your current result and all other results and decide what needs to be done.  This might result in a decision to treat and/or monitor you. Obviously going straight to treatment means just that.

I realise that this could be a difficult time for you so I hope you have some support from family and friends.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
