Right Testicle swelling and numb pain

Hello all, I am 21 years old and in good health. 2 days ago I noticed a small long lump while in the toilet, after examining this lump I realise that it doesn't seem connected to my testicle, but resides in my scrotum. I initially went to hospital however the 8 hour wait at 11pm wasn't the best and so I have gone home in hopes of booking a doctor's walk in appointment. However since then the lump has gone completely, I can't find any sign of it and it was very obvious. After trying to find this lump I've had a dull ache pain in my right testicle and also in my abdomen area. I'm worried as I don't know what this is or have any idea at all how serious this is, any advice would be a life saver as I am stressing quite a bit. Thank you and I am here to answer any questions.

  • Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I was sorry to read that you are worried about this.

We always advise that when you have concerns about your testicles or scrotum, to make an appointment with your GP who can advise you further, and hopefully reassure you. They will refer you for an ultrasound scan if they think this is necessary.

Most testicle lumps and bumps are easily explained, and are not anything serious. Testicular cancer is in fact very uncommon.

There is some useful information on the NHS websites on what testicles should feel and look like here

and there is information on testicle lumps and swellings at this link

I hope you find this helpful.

    Kind regards,
