You don't mention what test result you received, so it is difficult to offer specific advice on this. 

It's possible that you will receive a letter from the hospital, but individual hospitals may do things slightly differently in the way they communicate with their patients so it's best to contact them to ask about this.

If you are still worried about how you will be followed up perhaps you should speak to your GP to talk about your concerns. Usually they would get a summary letter from the hospital with test results and the conclusions of the specialist team.

Most people with a health concern feel very vulnerable and often describe being on an emotional roller coaster. So be aware of this and try and be kind to yourself and limit your expectations about what you should and shouldn't be doing or feeling.
