Dimple in breast

Hello!

I saw a dimple in my breast so contacted my GP.

She said she can’t feel anything but she agreed there was slight dimpling on the the boob where I said and the guidance is to refer to the breast clinic if there is. She’s said based on her examination she would say the chance of it being bad was low and based on that she wouldn’t do a priority referral so it’ll be about four weeks

Not long after I left she sent a confirming text about the referral and said I should hear from the fast track office within two days. I feel that was conflicting with what she said at the appointment so now I'm worried it was worse.

I've gone down the rabbit hole of Google, I can't find what else might cause dimpling other the an the big sinister answer.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

Most people who are referred to the breast clinic don't have breast cancer. I wouldn't read too much into the speed of your referral. Your GP is just being thorough, but you can always ring her up to go over how worried you are. Hopefully, she will be able to clarify things for you when you discuss this with her.

I hope you know more about your situation soon and things turn out to be okay.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
