Small ulcer

Hi , so about a month back I broke part of my tooth at the top of my mouth right at the back , it caused an ulcer directly across from it on my cheek that was very painful now the pain is away I still have the ulcer it's got a white edge it's round painless I'm just looking for some advice I have health anxiety so my first thought is oh no it's cancer but could I possibly be a scar from the ulcer ? Any help/advice would be great as I'm beginning to worry myself sick

  • With any changes in the mouth, you go by the two-week rule, especially for ulcers and lumps. If it doesn't go away, or it gets worse during those 2 weeks, you get it seen by a dentist. Most mouth issues begin to resolve within 2 weeks, and the ones that don't you don't ignore.

No one other than an in person dental or gp consultation can tell you what you do or don't have.

  • Hello and thank you for posting.

I'm afraid I don't know what the mark in your mouth is, but anyone noticing anything that concerns them, a new or unusual symptom,  we would suggest going to see their GP.

Doctors are the only people who can properly examine and assess you, and decide if further investigations are needed, so do give them a call.

Take care, and I hope you know more soon.

    Sarah.
