Hi I was wondering if anyone could help,I had a ct scan for acid problems and whilst having the ct scan they found cysts on my kidney and after going to see the doctor they referred me for a ultra scan on my kidneys to check them out,whilst having the scan the sonographer pointed out cyst on my right side and showed they where benign and then went to the left side and was there for a while but didn't say anything like he had about my right side and after he finished he said that he wants a ct scan done again which will be slightly different,does this mean something has def been seen to be referred again for a ct ,thank you for your time Wendy

    I'm afraid I don't know why the sonographer wants another ct scan. I don't know whether they saw something or if he was just being very thorough in his examination of you. 

    It may be that they feel a ct scan with contrast (which might be what they mean by slightly different) will give a clearer picture.

    Either way it's the limbo of now waiting for another scan, appointment and results which I know many people would find unsettling. Try and keep your self distracted so that your mind is kept busy. Then at least time may go quicker till your appointments and you will have all your answers.

    Thank you for your reply means so much,I think I'm reading more into it as I had a ct scan with contrast in the first place and from there they wanted me to have a ultra scan and now after ultrasound the doctor now wants me to have another ct scan,he showed me on the right side of my kidneys that there was cysts and they where benign and then went to the right side and was there a lot longer and made me lie in different positions and then when I got of the bed to dress he told me that he wanted me to have a ct scan in which I said I had one already and he then said this will be slightly different,I think I'm thinking something has been found because been sent for more tests,hopefully I will hear soon and can get this dread over and done with again thank you for your time Wendy
