Hi,

Is it usual for the radiologist to refer you for an urgent PET CT scan without a diagonise?

Thanks

  • Hello and thanks for your post

Unfortunately, we cannot advise specifically on this as we are not involved in your clinical care. It's not unusual for doctors to arrange a number of different tests and scans according to clinical assessment and what would be best to do.

A PET-CT scan combines a CT scan and a PET scan and it can help to diagnose a number of conditions including cancer. If a cancer is diagnosed, it can also give detailed information about it. You can read more about PET-CT scans by clicking here.

I hope you know more about your situation soon. Give us a ring if we can help further. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,
