Nodular malignant melanoma

Hi I'm new to this site. Looking for some help. My father has been diagnosed with nodular malignant melanoma and is currently awaiting a wide excision and possible snb. I have been trying to gain some info so that we know what to expect and have seen letters sent by the hospital to his gp which said after the first biopsy it had a depth of 4mm or more the second letter after another procedure says that it is 2.5 cm (25mm)depth. Is this right? Please help I'm going out of my mind

  • Hello Italia and thanks for posting,

I can understand you asking us but I am afraid we are not part of the National Health System (NHS) and cannot access anyone's records, so I can't confirm the depth of your father's melanoma. I think the only way to clarify this and what the other procedure he had was will be to contact the hospital.  You can ask the hospital switchboard to put you through to the specialist's secretary to leave a message.

I am sorry I can't be more helpful but hope you can find out more soon.

Please feel free to call us if you want to talk this over. Our number is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday but we are closed over the two Jubilee Bank Holidays.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
