Neck lump

In October I felt a very small lump in my neck. With that I couldn't feel it again. It seems to have come back. It's quite small on the left side of my neck. I am getting over a cold and in October when I found the lump I also had a cold and I think it can be normal when ill. Obviously I am worried sick. I've read if it's there any longer than two weeks to call a doctor so I am currently monitoring it!

  • Hello and thanks for getting in touch.

I'm afraid I'm unable to tell you if anything is anything the matter.

Lumps in the neck are usually associated with swollen lymph glands. This is very common when you have been unwell as their job is to fight off bacteria, this can cause them to be hard or swollen for weeks and sometimes months. If you still are feeling unwell after your cold has gone, and remain concerned then you should contact your GP.
