Hi all this is my first time on here,
I have a largish (1cm ish) mole on my stomach that has always been oval, flat and dark brown...I did notice it felt rough maybe a few months ago but didn't really pay much attention. About 5 weeks ago it began changing a lot...I also caught covid at this time and was unwell for 3 weeks and so could not do anything about it. It became an irregular shape, different colours within it, itching like mad, bleeding and oozing. It would settle and then start again.
A week or so ago I contacted my GP about it and saw them last friday, she felt it may be a squamous cell carcinoma. I was lucky to be referred and see a dermatologist at the hospital yesterday. The last ten days it has been oozing terribly so I must have a dressing on it 24/7.
He was not sure if it is a problem or not and I had to insist that it was actually a mole because even in the last 2 weeks it has changed a lot and is now more like a red "bleb" than a mole. He felt that at my age (40's) it should have settled in the last 5 weeks and there also inflammation around it. So it seems it could be benign or malignant.
I am having it removed next Wednesday and will take it from there.
I am just kind of telling my story really. I am quite concerned. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for listening <3
