Colon cancer

Hi , 

I have been to a&e following an attack of vomiting diarrhoea and awful cramping followed by pure blood from bottom! ( about 30ml a day ) 

bloods cancer indicator is only 7 

so are referred for colonoscopy in next couple of weeks would my blood level not be raised is cancer ? Or is cancer still a possibility 

I go from severely constipated to explosive stools and bouts of nausea and sickness over last couple of years

    I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you are having and appreciate this must be a worry for you.

    Symptoms can be caused by lots of different things and most of the time cancer isn't the cause. Hopefully the colonoscopy will give more information to the doctors about what the problem might be.

    Often more than one test is needed to make a diagnosis and it is often impossible to know what is going on with just a blood test.

    Hang in there for now and try not to over think things until you have had the colonoscopy. Look after yourself and do let your doctor know if you symptoms worsten at all whilst you are waiting.
