Hi there,
A few months back a noticed a tiny black spot on the back of my shoulder, well actually I felt it first. It feels like a really tiny lump under the skin (tip of a pen size) and upon looking I realised it was a really small white area with a black spot in the middle. It really is small, no bigger than a pencil tip. Initially I assumed it was perhaps an ingrown hair or similar and forgot about it. It's still there now, and squeezing does nothing. Nothing seems to come out of it. So obviously I done the worst thing you can and googled it (I know!) which comes up with a whole load of posts for melanomas. I am fair skinned with red hair so started to worry so off I went to my GP to have it checked.
My GP was very obviously fed up that I had presented with this, she tried squeezing it herself and said it feels like "a blockage of some kind" and suggested I continue trying to squeeze it myself. I told her I was worried about it and her response was "look at it, it's absolutely tiny. I'm not sure what it is, but something that size is not going to be anything to worry about".
My question is where do I go now? Do I accept I'm likely worrying over nothing (I will readily admit I am a natural worrier) or is this something I should push to have looked at again? It has never changed in size, shape etc since I first noticed it and is not painful.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
