Hi there,
Try not to be too worried since it's important to remember that we all develop new moles during our lifetime. Did they suddenly appear or have you only just become aware of them, and you're not sure how long they were there? I think getting seen by a dermatologist or GP would be a good idea to be on the safe side: my understanding is that developing new moles is normal but any sudden changes / developments need to be assessed by a professional.
You say you developed these in last few days. I think you should contact your GP. There are some non-cancerous conditions that can cause eruptive nevi . Have you started any new medication, for example? Are you immuno-suppressed? If the latter, then it would be wise to contact your GP today.
Hello and thanks for your post
I'm sorry you are worried about some new moles on your back and arms that have developed over the last couple of days.
Moles are common and most don't develop into skin cancer. People are generally advised to keep an eye on them to look out for any changes.
There are certain things to look out for in moles that we need to report to the doctor, they don't necessarily mean skin cancer however they do need to be properly assessed in case this is what is causing them. GP's are very experienced at looking at skin conditions and are able to decide if someone needs further tests.
There is an ABCDE checklist that can be good to know about which you can take a look at on our website at this link.
I hope this is of some use. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
