Bloods

How long after radiotherapy for prostate cancer should your bloods be done

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you have been having treatment for prostate cancer. There are general guidelines on Prostate CancerUK and on our website about the guidelines of follow up after treatment.

Have a look at ProstateCancerUK which talks about having a PSA before your appointment. Have a look here

As a general rule patients are seen about six weeks after treatment to check that the area has all healed up and you may well have a PSA done then.  If you are unsure or have not been told when your appointment is then do check with your specialists secretary or if you have a urology specialist nurse you could check with them.

Have a look at the follow up on our website here

There will be variations depending on where you have been treated but hopefully you should know more soon.

If you would like to chat to one of the helpline nurses then you are more then welcome to give us a ring. Our number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    All the Best,

    Catherine
