Advice please

Hi, first time posting and just needing some advice.

I have been going back and forth to doctors now for around 6weeks appointments/phonecalls & econsults. I made my first appointment due to noticed a large purple discolouration on my breast and skin dimpling along with a swollen lymph node in my neck. At my appointment they had no clue what could be and prescribed me an anti inflammatory cream which didn't help. I went back for a 2nd opinion and was told it was Telangiectasias and prescribed an anti fungal cream which also didn't help. Then was gave an appointment 3weeks later for a review to then be told it was my bra causing the discolouration?  Over the course of this I have been having some pain in my left kidney area that goes to my back/neck/head. Extreme tiredness and general weekness also kind of feels like a tingling sensation on back my arms and legs. Several other lymph nodes in my neck have swollen along with one under my armpit/chest area and thigh/groin area. Generally just feel I have no energy and little appetite and when I do eat I'm full very quickly.

First lymph node appeared 7weeks ago

I then went back to doctors due to the new symptoms and was told viral infection yet I don't have any cold symptoms etc. They took bloods and my kidneys came back abnormal but no treatment? I then contacted doctor's again as 7weeks later and i'm still the very same and it seems symptoms are progressing I wake up in the middle of the night sweating snd uncomfortable. I'm only 20 and getting really worried as the doctors don't seem concerned. I'm due back to go to doctors on Monday to discuss next steps? Can anyone help I know I shouldn't google but my answers are taking me to IBC & Non Hogkins/Lymphoma or Kidney Cancer. Probably nothing but I feel like my mind isn't at ease!

  • Hello and thank you for your post. I am sorry to hear that you have been unwell.

I realise that you are worried but I am sorry that it is not possible for anyone here to diagnose you. You have done the right thing in going back to your GP.

Googling your symptoms is also not able to tell you what is the matter, while it can give a list of conditions it cannot say if you have any of them so please do not assume you have cancer. For your own anxiety levels please stop doing it.

Do let your GP know about all your symptoms and your concerns that you could have cancer. Your GP will do what is best for you so you can ask if you need to have further tests or be referred to a specialist at the hospital.

I hope you have support from people around you and that you will be okay. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
