Breast puckering after mammogram and ultrasound

Hi

i had an infrasound and mammogram 4 weeks ago because I have a few indentations/dimples on my left breast. (I'm 38)

The scans were clear, but the consultant wanted me to come back in 3 months for a follow up.

Anyway, today I noticed an inch long, zig-zag shaped, vertical puckering appear in the same breast, only when arm is by my side and pushed toward the breast, or when muscle tensed a certain way. It's at the 5 o clock position on my left breast. I can't feel a lump.

I'm confused because I've had clear scans so recently, but this symptom is new and scary!

Would you suggest I wait for my follow up appointment in 8 weeks, or dies this need checked out more urgently? I'm wondering if I can be reassured by my clear scans or if this can still be caused by something that was missed!

please help, I'm very scared!

  • Hello and thank you for posting.

I think if you have noticed a change since you last seen the breast specialist it is best to contact them and let them know. They can then assess and decide if they want to see you in 8 weeks time or if they want to see you sooner.

The fact that the scans were clear 4 weeks ago is positive news, but I think you will worry regardless so do talk it through with them.

If you struggle to get hold of anyone at the clinic, then do contact your GP.

    Take care,

    Sarah.
