Suspected melanoma

Hi, I had a suspicious mole removed on the 8th of April, suspected melanoma. I received a letter on Friday 29th April to go in for a face to face appointment on Thursday 5th may to discuss my results. I've been worried all week, I'm only 27..... Does a face to face at a different hospital mean bad news?

Thank you

  • Hello Feefeeb and thanks for posting,

I understand you asking, but I don't think it is possible to draw any conclusions from having been given a face to face appointment. However if a melanoma is suspected there is always the chance it will be confirmed, so it is virtually impossible not to worry. Bear in mind that melanoma is often successfully treated, so try not to let the worry run away with you, hold your nerve and keep an open mind until you know the facts.

    Take care,

    Julia
