Breast- 2 years post biopsy- lump and pain

Hi,

I had noticed at Christmas past that there was a small lump and an ache in the exact spot where I had previously had a biopsy in about 2020. At the time, I had a 50 year breast check. Which was clear, I have some fibroids in my breast tissue however but thankfully benign .

I'm now 52, and the lump and pain is exactly from where they took the biopsy. It's more persistent than at Christmas.  I'm awaiting to see my GP but wondered whether anyone had any advice?

Thanks

Nellie

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

It is sensible to go and see the GP to ask them to assess it. They are best placed to advise you further about it. They might suggest some repeat imaging, or sometimes antibiotics, as you can get infections in breast tissue. Most of the time it will have a straightforward explanation, but it makes sense to get it checked out.

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
