Prostate Cancer

I believe that the aim is for everyone referred to the NHS with suspected cancer to be identified as having or not having cancer within 28 days. I have been told that it is highly likely that I have prostrate cancer and have been booked in for a biopsy next week some 5 months after being referred by my doctor. Can I take any comfort from this that the hospital do not regard my case as urgent.

  • Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you have waited so long for a biopsy. It is good to hear that the doctors feel that it is highly unlikely that you have prostate cancer. Unfortunately without being involved in your care it is difficult for us to comment on how they came to this conclusion but do talk to your doctors about why they feel this is the case.

I do hope that you know more about your situation soon.

    All the Best,

    Catherine
