Confused & worried

Hi,

I was told I had high risk hpv & CIN 1 abnormal cells. This was 3 and half years ago. Last year I received heat treatment. Went for a smear 6 months later. Treatment didn't work. So I'm still in the same situation. I had another biopsy last week & I'm dreading the results. They told me then also that treatment can't be repeated. They won't tell me what will happen next until the biopsy results come through...in 6 weeks. Then it'll be another wait after that to get hospital appointment to discuss what is going to happen. This is a very long time to wait. I would feel better if they were honest & told me the options.

  • Hello Cazzy66 and thanks for posting,

I can understand you asking, but I'm afraid I can't tell you what sort of treatment the colposcopy clinic might decide on if they do think you need to be treated.

In the meantime if you want to, you can read about the different ways CIN is usually treated on our website  or at the website of another charity,  Jo's Trust

I can appreciate that waiting to find things like this out can be difficult, if you want to talk anything over, please do give us a call on Freephone 0808 800 4040, we are around weekdays, from 9-5.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
