Another lesion

Hi there, I've recently had a mole removed from my back that had turned rogue, I haven't had my results back yet, however a lesion has come up on the side of my face, it started small and is now about 1cm I can't identify it, it's got bigger over the days is various shades of pink and is raised, I've had it about 2 weeks now. I'm wondering am I best to get another referral to get it checked or wait for my results of the mole as I might have to go back then anyway. My family are pressuring me to go back sooner and I don't know what to do for the best. Any advice please would be much appreciated.
Background, this is my first rogue mole and I have another 3 that have been highlighted to keep an eye on and go back in 3 months, if this mole is anything looking at endless pics I think it's a melanoma, but this on my face looks more like squamous cell, perhaps I'm looking at too many pictures.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

It's probably best to let your GP know about the new lesion on your face, they are very experienced at looking at skin conditions. As you probably know GP's are offering telephone appointments initially with their patients. They may ask you for a mobile phone photo to be emailed to them to have a look at the areas of concern. If they need to see you they can offer you a face to face appointment.

As you are currently under the care of the dermatology team, your GP may get in touch with them to ask them to assess you when you go in to get your results.

I hope you know more about your situation soon.

    Best wishes,

    Celene
