Very scared large swollen lump in armpit for 5 weeks

Hello,

i am so upset and scared and hoping someone can help please. I feel like I may have lymphoma and not being listened too. 
 

I had a bad bout of glandular fever this time last year. Ever since I have been suffering with sore throats and have one swollen tonsil. I have also noticed glands are up in my neck. A month ago I noticed this lump in my armpit not painful but slightly tender but it's got bigger and bigger. The nurse saw me last week and was very dismissive and told me she can’t even see or feel it and that isn’t where glands are located. I’m very worried as it has got bigger. Sorry in advance for the spikey armpit pic! I’m just really worrying about this. Can anyone advise what this could be? The side view you can visibly see it. I called my doctor in tears a few days ago begging him to get it scanned and he told me there are certain protocols first and to wait till next week so he can check and then send me for bloods. I am sure this is a gland. I now have my tonsil, neck lymph node and this come up all down the right side of my body. I am desperate for someone to check but my doctors are so rubbish. 

I have booked in at a private breast clinic next week as I am so scared and just want it scanned. I can't upload a photo on here but I will explain it; the very top part of the armpit where it 'dips' in the meet the arm well it is completely patruding out with a large lump very visable and like a round ball as soon as I lift my arm up. Is this a node? It's so big definitely not moveable and painless just a little tender when I start pressing etc. completely skin coloured.

i am so scared im 28 and have my 18 month old daughter who depends on me for everything. It's affecting my life I end up in tears every day over this. 
 

any advice please? Please can anyone help or has anyone had similar?

    Hi Smartie,

    I too have multiple nodes inflamed on the right hand side of my body (behind ear & groin) a few years 

    Now have multiple lumps swellings back of my throat, back of head into neck, clavicle and maybe breast into armpit.

    Currently in 2ww with maxillofacial. 

    It's a shame you've had to book privately. I would try your GP again if they have been there for a few weeks definitely due to experience nodes can go up and down even if you have a slight cold.

    Sorry I'm not much help but I'm in the same position as you and a mum myself so just want to let you know your not alone.

    I am sorry to hear about the symptoms you have and appreciate the worry they are causing you.

    There can be many reasons for lumps and bumps so try not to over think things if you can. Infection ( past and present), ingrowing hairs, fatty lumps ( lipoma) and cysts can all be responsible for lumps. It is important that the doctor assesses you and as they have said to you run some bloods as well to see if anything abnormal is picked up on these that can give clues to the cause.

    There are guidelines for who and when someone can be referred for tests and these do need to be met. Otherwise the referral will be refused by the hospital. However if the doctor thinks a ultrasound is needed they will arrange this for you.

    Unfortunately we cannot look at photos on here and even if we could as nurses we cannot say what the matter is. Often a series of tests is needed to be able to make a diagnosis, so try and sit tight and take each day as it comes.
