Breast cancer biopsy results

Hi

i have had a breast biopsy 10 days ago they have rang me today to go in tomorrow morning for the results at 9.25 am I right in assuming this is because I am going to receive bad news and will need further tests , as surely they wouldn't waste an early appt if I was going to be clear ?

  • From our experience, there is no rhyme or reason to receiving early or late results.

These very forums are full of stories about people get recalled early with good and bad news. People waiting longer for both bad and good news. Time of day makes no difference either. Hospital appointments are at a premium, so they call you in where they can. Whether that be 8.30am or 6pm.

I do get where you're coming from, though. We overanalyse everything. We read too much into how people look at us when we're getting scans, why the receptionist said to come in, how they speak to others before calling us into their office etc etc.

You're hypersensitive to everything. Don't knock yourself for being like that, most folk are. Us included.

  • Thanks for the reply

i guess sometimes you just want someone to say one way or the other that this is the case good or bad .

  • Hello Mich1972 and thanks for posting,

I can understand you asking, but I agree with ProfBaw, it is impossible to anticipate what will be said at an appointment just from going on how soon you get it.

Waiting for results is a horrible time and at least there isn't long to go. In the meantime try and keep an open mind and do whatever works for you to distract yourself as far as is possible.

    Best wishes,

    Julia
