Constant Fatigue

Hi, I finished chemo 6 weeks ago and for the last 4 weeks I have felt constantly tired. This was my second lot of chemo within a year and the one I just finished was CAPOX so quite an intensive treatment. I am incurable and inoperable and my last CT showed that my tumours were stable.
I do not have the energy to do anything, I've had blood tests done and all my bloods have come back ok. Can this tiredness be due to the end of chemo and the side effects lingering? It's just so frustrating because I want to get up and do things but I just haven't got it in me.

Thank you for listening

  • Hello and thanks for your post

People vary in how they feel during and after treatment. Some people may be fine during their treatment and develop fatigue many weeks after their treatment has finished.

We have some information on our website about fatigue and tips on how to manage it such as doing a form of gentle exercise, getting enough rest and eating a healthy diet which you can read about by clicking here.

I hope this is of some use to you. Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
