Post endometrial biopsy

I had an endometrial biopsy 10 days ago and am still losing a small amount of blood ( mostly seen on paper after having a wee). I also passed a fingernail size lump of fleshy looking material on Saturday and a smaller piece again today.
I have no pain except an extremely sore vulva, where I was pulled about ( had a GA, but even that didn't relax those muscles enough).
Is passing flesh and bleeding for 10 days normal?

I have tried to contact the Dr who did the procedure, but she hasn't got back to me.

  • Hello and thanks for your post

It is normal to experience the symptoms you mention. Light bleeding is common after an endometrial biopsy and it can last up to two weeks in some women. It is normal to feel uncomfortable or to experience some pain for a while afterwards. Taking a mild painkiller should help.

Hopefully, your doctor will get back to you and can reassure you.

I hope things improve for you soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
