  • Hello there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and surgery and further investigations into what else might be going on.

This understandably is a worrying time for you and I hope you have the support of friends and family around you at this time.

Try and take things one day at a time and not over think things too much until you have all the facts. Keeping yourself and your mind occupied with other things can be useful but I appreciate this isn't always that easy in situations like this.

I hope you know more soon but do get back if you need or want to or if you prefer give one of the nurses a call on the helpline. Our number is 0808 800 40404 and we're here Monday-Friday 9-5.

    All the best

    Naomi

  • Hi, I've just been told my BC is in one lymph node that was detected during ultrasound and was biopsied. Now they want to do CT and bone scan. It's quite worrying but I'm trying to stay calm and cross that bridge if/when I get to it. Just wondering how you got on as I've come across your post from searching for "bone scan". I hope everything turned out well for you. Hugs x

  • Hi Amy 321 and thank you for your post.

I have popped on here because the person you are posting to has not posted for some time so its possible that you will not get a reply.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis and I can appreciate you have some questions.  Having  a CT and bone scan is standard when it is known that the breast cancer has spread to lymph nodes, even just to one. So, try not to read too much into it because your specialist team just have to be sure that the cancer has not spread.

You may find that you will get replies to your post from members of Cancer Chat if you post in another area. They are listed to the left of this page.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support.  You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care,

    Caroline
