Has anyone experienced this an if so for how long? X

  • Hello and thanks for your post

People vary in the side effects they experience with their cancer treatment. It isn't unusual to experience the side effects you mention. Breathlessness can be a sign of anaemia,so if you haven't had a recent blood test it may be a good idea to have this checked out just to be sure.

It can take several weeks or months before patients start to feel more like themselves again after intensive treatment. Your energy levels will improve over time and as I've said people will vary in this. So do be kind to yourself and take each step as it comes.

Hopefully people will come along and share their experiences with you, as support like this can be invaluable. But it’s important to bear in mind that even if there are other people who have experienced similar things to you, I’m not sure that it will shed much light about what is going on with you as everyone is so individual.

I hope things improve for you soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk things over .The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi it is very normal feeling that way after chemo,if you are still breathless walking upstairs have a blood test, also try and rest with your legs up as much as you can.Chemo is very powerful and it does tire you out, your body will get back to normal,I've had a year of chemo also I had radiotherapy so I do understand how you feel x
